Chris Brown talks salvaging his reputation on 'Today': ‘I can’t make everybody like me’ |
Chris Brown talks about his new album and fixing his reputation in an appearance on 'Today' Monday.
Chris Brown stopped by NBC's "Today" show to talk about his new album "X," and even more at length about the new, reformed him.
"I've been humbled by the whole experience," Brown, 23, said, referring to the fallout over the past three years after beating girlfriend Rihanna, 25, in 2009.
'I've been humbled by the whole experience,' Brown said.
"Knowing that what I did was totally wrong and having to kind of deal with myself and kind of forgive myself in the same breath and being able to apologize to, you know, Rihanna…"
Host Matt Lauer grilled Brown about his claims to be a "different man," pointing out that his recent spats — with both singers Frank Ocean and Drake — and a slew of inappropriate Instagram photos, don't echo his reformed sentiment.

You understand that if you behave badly again, you're going to damage not only your relationship, but her reputation as well,' said Lauer
"Yeah, everything's good, we're fine," he said. "Knowing that what I did was wrong, and never doing it again. So as far as me and (Rihanna) are concerned, she knows my heart, and I know her heart. So I'm not really focused on the negative."
And, Lauer took it a step further, making sure Brown knows he can't mess up again.

"Absolutely," said Brown. "That's why I'm moving forward, positive."
