Jason Aldean Files for Divorce from Jessica Ussery

After 12 years of marriage, Jason Aldean and Jessica Ussery are calling it quits.

Citing irreconcilable differences, the country star filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tenn., court on April 26, according to papers obtained by PEOPLE.

"This is a really tough time for my entire family. Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We've been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple," Aldean exclusively told PEOPLE in a statement.

"She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our number one priority."

One day prior to filing the papers, Aldean's rep confirmed that Aldean, 36, and wife Jessica – who are parents to daughters Keeley, 10, and Kendyl, 5 – were having problems.

"I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time," his rep told PEOPLE at the time. "It's a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way."

In his statement on Monday, Aldean also asked for privacy. "I've learned that everyone always rushes to judgment when they hear news like this. That's really hard because no one knows anything about our relationship but us," he continued. "I understand that because of my job, I have to go through a lot of this in the public eye, but for my girls' sake I really wish people would give us some level of privacy and at the very least be respectful of them."

The divorce comes after Aldean was photographed being affectionate with season 11 American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr last fall. Although Aldean issued a public apology, the setback affected the couple.

While Aldean told PEOPLE in December that "All that other stuff is kind of in the past and we're just looking to have a great year in 2013," he walked the red carpet alone at the Academy of Country Music Awards earlier this month.

Album review: LL Cool J's 'Authentic'

Somewhere between Grammy hosting duties, starring on a hit CBS cop drama and thwarting home burglars, LL Cool J has completely lost touch with what launched him into superstardom : rapping. That startling disconnection is what bogs down his 13th album, "Authentic."
His first offering in nearly five years — and first not to be issued through longtime hip-hop powerhouse Def Jam — "Authentic" not only misses the mark, it doesn't even come close.

In the nearly 30 years since the Queens emcee first emerged, the lady-killer has become a multi - hypenate force in entertainment. But where other aging rhymers like Jay-Z and Nas  have evolved, the album sounds like an artist light years past a creative peak that helped establish the genre.

LL still shines when he's doing what he's known for: wooing the ladies. The R&B-tinged grooves ("Something About You," "New Love," "Between the Sheetz") are standouts, as are the '80s hip-hop flourishes on "We Came to Party" and "Whaddup." But those few moments are sandwiched between forgettable tracks that desperately reach for a hybrid of rap, pop and rock. It could work if the material was interesting enough (just ask Lil Wayne).

Even worse, he allows himself to get lost amid an exhaustive list of guests including Fitz and the Tantrums, Eddie Van Halen, Snoop Dogg, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bootsy Collins, Travis Barker, Chuck D, Tom Morello, Z-Trip and Brad Paisley. Some of his collaborators elevate the material, and others make you wish they'd done the track themselves.

Thankfully, his collaboration with Paisley, the semi-rock ballad "Live for You," isn't as big a misfire as the controversial "Accidental Racist." Unfortunately, that isn't enough to save the record.

The next season of American Horror Story just got some major star power. Oscar-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe will be joining the cast of the upcoming season, titled Coven.
So far, we don't know much about the character Sidibe will be portraying. That's fitting though, as we also haven't gotten a lot of information on the season in general.

American Horror Story is a fairly unique TV series in that each season is its own self contained story. The first season, Murder House, dealt with a haunted home. The second, Asylum, took place in a mental institution. The third season is titled Coven, which seems to indicate it will have something to do with witches. It was previously hinted that a clue about the next season would be hidden in the tenth episode of Asylum, titled The Name Game.
Gabourey Sidibe got her big break as the star of Precious, a role that brought her a nomination for Best Actress. Since then, she's appeared in Tower Heist, Seven Psycopaths, and has a regular role on The Big C.

he news was announced by series co-creator Ryan Murphy on Twitter earlier this morning. She'll be joining returning cast members Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Taissa Farmiga, as well as series newcomer Kathy Bates. Bates is best known for her terrifying turn as Annie Wilkes in Misery, for which she won an Oscar. Her character has been described by Murphy as "five times worse than [her] Misery character."
Due to the way the American Horror Story series is structured, all of the season one and two returning cast members will be portraying entirely new characters. The upcoming third season will also be the first to shoot on location, although it has not been revealed yet where exactly the production will be heading.

If Hairspray book writer Thomas Meehan has his way, however, it’ll soon be in the conversation for the greatest musical ever made. The Producers scribe has partnered with composer/ lyricist team Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens to put together the framework of a musical based on the Oscar-winning story about a Philadelphia underdog who overcomes the odds and achieves incredible success in the ring.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peter and the Starcatcher director Alex Timbers has also boarded the project, and perhaps more importantly, Sylvester Stallone is standing behind it too. Here’s what the original Rocky star had to say…

“I couldn’t be more proud or more excited about this production and how my original story of Rocky Balboa has been brought to spectacular life onstage.”

On the one hand, it’s easy to see why Broadway all-stars would be so attracted to adapting Rocky. Not only does the name have huge buzz behind it, it’s also just the type of rags to riches story so many incredible musical productions are based off of. On the other hand, there’s always a fear whenever beloved movies are updated that the new version will only piss off fans of the original. Plus, the target demographics of Rocky doesn’t seem like it would overlap that much with the typical Broadway demographics.

After one (albeit rocky) season on "American Idol," Nicki Minaj now qualifies as a TV veteran. But the Young Money princess is working on upping her screen game with a role in the upcoming Cameron Diaz revenge comedy "The Other Woman."

Minaj, who starred as animated mammoth Steffie in last year's "Ice Age: Continental Drift," is in final negotiations to play Diaz's opinionated assistant at a law firm in the film, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The comedy will be directed Nick Cassavetes ("Alpha Dog") and also feature "This is 40" actress Leslie Mann, "Game Of Thrones" star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and model Kate Upton. The movie follows the thrice-married Diaz, who finds out that she is the "other woman" in an affair and teams up with the wife to get revenge on the cheating husband, played by Coster-Waldau. Upton plays another mistress who joins the women in their plot.

A few weeks ago, the drama-loving rapper, a performing-arts school alum, told MTV News? that she was ready to return to her "first love," acting. "I may be working on something right now. I can't really say too much about it, but I definitely have the acting bug," Minaj said. "That was my first love, so you just never know."

Though used to being in front of the cameras, Upton is also a relative newbie to the big screen, logging just a few bit parts in previous films, including Eddie Murphy's "Tower Heist" and last year's comedic flop, "The Three Stooges."

The film is slated to shoot in late spring/early summer in New York, after Minaj finishes her run on "Idol," which wraps in three weeks.

Noting that Jessica didn't attend ACM Awards with Jason earlier this month, the insider said, "There were obvious problems before the bar kiss, but [Jason] finally left earlier this year." A representative for Jason also confirmed that the "Don't You Wanna Stay" singer's marriage to Jessica was indeed on the rock.

"I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time," the rep responded to the news, but declined to give further details. Last September, Jason, who has been married to Jessica for 11 years, was photographed kissing Brittany at a bar in West Hollywood. He later released an apology statement via WhoSay. Admitting that he "had too much to drink" and "acted inappropriately at a bar," he wrote, "I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support."

In November, Jason and Jessica appeared together on CBS' "This Morning". Addressing the kissing incident, the father of Keeley and Kendyl Aldean said, "Any time you go through anything like that, it's tough." Grab your mouse ears and get ready to spend an all-nighter at Disneyland and Disney World at the start of Memorial Day weekend, with Pixar characters from the upcoming movie "Monsters University" roving around and other special events.

The Magic Kingdom Park in Orlando, Fla., as well as Disneyland and California Adventure Park in Anaheim will open at 6 a.m. May 24 and remain open for 24 hours, according to a Walt Disney World announcement. It's the first all-night opening for all three parks.

The marathon Disney day will feature characters and special events at each of the theme parks. That effort got off to an early start in Florida, where the big, round Spaceship Earth on Thursday was turned into "Monsters" character Mike Wazowski, the one-eyed green pal to James P. "Sulley" Sullivan.
In California during the all-night event, a new "Monsters University" float will lead the Pixar Play Parade, and monster-style dorm rooms will be in place in Hollywood Land at California Adventure.

And of course there will be music too. Guests can dance the night away at the Fantasy Faire Royal Theatre, which will be transformed into a music hall with live bands, or party in a dance club with "Monsters" and "Star Wars" characters in Tomorrowland.

One caveat: Go early if you really want to party all day and night. Last year, Disneyland was forced to close for several hours during its 24-hour Leap Day celebration on Feb. 29. After-work crowds turned up for the event but the park was already filled to capacity.

Reporting from Beijing --  The rabbit and the rat are finally coming home.

Two bronze heads that were looted from Beijing’s old Summer Palace in 1860 are to be returned to China this year by a French billionaire who acquired them from Christie’s auction house, Chinese state media reported.

The donation was announced late Friday by Francois-Henri Pinault, heir and chief executive of luxury fashion conglomerate Kering Inc., which is expanding its business in the booming Chinese market. Pinault was part of a business delegation accompanying French President Francois Hollande to China.

"It is not only a friendly gesture to the Chinese people, but will also be conducive to the return of more Chinese relics from overseas," the State Administration of Cultural Heritage said in a statement published Saturday in state media.

The two heads, as large as beach balls, are part of a set of 12 representing the animals of the Chinese zodiac. Originally fountain ornaments, they are less valued aesthetically than politically, symbolizing for many Chinese their nation’s humiliation during the Opium wars of the 19th century.

In 2009, Christie’s attempted to auction off the rat and the rabbit, which it had acquired from the estate of the late designer Yves Saint Laurent. China protested the auction, and when they failed to win an injunction, a Chinese nonprofit group dedicated to repatriating antiques scuttled the sale by submitting a fake high bid of nearly $40 million under an assumed name. Pinault,  who is married to actress Salma Hayek, eventually acquired the two heads from Christie’s, which is owned by his holding company.

The donation is not purely altruistic. Pinault’s brands --  Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent and Puma -- are chalking up high sales in China, the world’s fastest-growing luxury market, and Christie’s recently became the first international art auction house licensed to operate without a local partner in China.

 Also during Hollande’s visit, a trade deal was announced for China to buy 60 Airbus planes.

Song Xinchao, deputy director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, told reporters that the heads should be returned by July and will be displayed at the National Museum of China.

According to the agency, some 1.5 million relics were looted from the Old Summer Place and are now housed in 2,000 museums in 47 countries.

With China’s growing wealth, private collectors have begun buying back looted relics and have recovered the heads of an ox, tiger, monkey, pig and horse, which are displayed in the Poly Art Museum, owned by a military-linked conglomerate. Five other pieces from the zodiac set remain missing and have become a cause celebre among Chinese. The dissident artist Ai Weiwei made replicas of the heads that were displayed in New York in 2011 while last year’s Hong Kong action film “Chinese Zodiac” featured Jackie Chan leading mercenaries in a quest to recover the heads.

News of the Frenchman’s donation was widely applauded by Chinese.

"I hope one day all 12 Zodiac heads can be reunited!" wrote one Chinese antiques expert on a microblog site.

The source said, “After defending his performance, the producers reached out to Seth and invited him back to host the show again. He’s not sure if he’s going to do it, but he has to decide within the next couple of weeks.”

“Pain & Gain” casts Wahlberg , Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie as Florida bodybuilder-trainers whose bizarre mid-1990s scheme to kidnap and rob a client resulted in torture, murder and the longest trial in Dade County history.


While the TV spots emphasize the comedic aspects of these lunkheads, the $26 million “Pain” is actually a dark dive to the underside of the American Dream.

“This did remind (me) of ‘Boogie Nights,’ Wahlberg said of his breakthrough role as a fictitious porn star 16 years ago, “(where I got to play) a really outrageous character set in a really different kind of world. The whole world of bodybuilding is fascinating to me.

“I read the script and it says ‘based on a true story’ and it’s like that’s impossible,” he continued.

“And lo and behold, you do your research and find out that this stuff really happened. Actually we had to take some stuff out because it was too unbelievable, too farfetched, if you can believe that based on what you see in the movie. It was fascinating.”

For criminal mastermind Daniel Lugo, Wahlberg, 41, wanted to “play the role as realistic as possible. He was an interesting guy. To the end he believed that he was gonna get away with it, and that he was right” to torture, murder and steal to achieve his American Dream.

“I only had a little bit of information about Danny that I learned. I would have been open to the idea of talking to him” — on Florida’s Death Row — “but they didn’t recommend it. So I didn’t want to push it.”

CBS Twitter Feeds Are Compromised

The Twitter accounts for two national CBS programs have been compromised and suspended.

A CBS News spokeswoman confirms Saturday that tweets sent earlier in the afternoon from the "60 Minutes" and "48 Hours" Twitter handles saying their accounts were compromised are correct.

The tweets said the network is working with Twitter to investigate. On Saturday night both accounts were suspended and inaccessible.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The CBS spokeswoman wouldn't comment any further.

Earlier in the day tweets coming from the 60 Minutes account seemed farfetched, including one that claimed the US government was "hiding the real culprit of the Boston bombing."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Twilight star is the latest to sign up for the drama - described as an acerbic look at Hollywood.

R-Pattz will be working with Cronenberg for the second time, having teamed up with the Canadian helmsman on Cosmopolis.

Julianne Moore, John Cusack and Sarah Gadon are among the cast, with Rachel Weisz having pulled out of the project earlier this year.

Filming is reportedly due to start in May.

Pattinson was recently spotted with girlfriend K-Stew at the Coachella Festival.

Digital Public Library of America launches beta web portal

The Digital Public Library of America has launched a beta of its website today. The previously planned launch event was to be held at the Boston Public Library this week, but was cancelled as a result of the Boston marathon bombings.The DPLA's portal brings together the digital collections of public libraries and museums across the country, hoping to offer a streamlined, one stop destination for searching archives.

"The wonder and joy of entering an expansive library for the first time is truly a special feeling. We are delighted to be able to share this unified, open collection with Americans and the world, and can’t wait to see what people discover," Executive Director Dan Cohen said in a prepared statement.

The project is still in beta, but it launches with several special sections beyond its search portal, including a map and timeline which allow users to browse and search information and items visually, and a library of applications, giving users access to apps created by developers using the DPLA's API. At the time of launch, the app library includes two applications, both for searching and visualizing the DPLA collections.

The Library also launches with several special exhibitions, including A History of Survivance 19th c. Upper Midwest Native American Resources in the DPLA, developed with the Minnesota Digital Library, This Land Is Your Land: Parks and Public Spaces, developed by the South Carolina Digital Library, and Boston Sports Temples, developed by the Digital Commonwealth.

THE GOAL IS TO BRING THE NATION’S RICH CULTURAL COLLECTIONS OFF THE SHELVES AND INTO THE INNOVATIVE ENVIRONMENT OF THE INTERNET

While the partnerships at launch time number in the dozens, including institutions such as the Smithsonian, Harvard University, and the New York Public Library, the DPLA's goal is clearly steady expansion and growth of its archives. One interesting collection it will have at launch is the The David Rumsey Map Collection, which has not previously been available online. The one notable, gaping omission is the Library of Congress, though Harvard University Librarian Robert Darnton wrote in the New York Review of Books earlier this month that the Library's sponsors "hope that the Library of Congress also will participate." Director of the DPLA Secretariat Maura Marx said in the announcement that the library's goal is "to bring the entire nation’s rich cultural collections off the shelves and into the innovative environment of the Internet for people to discover, download, remix, reuse and build on in ways we haven’t yet begun to imagine.”

The DPLA launches with 2.4 million records, including access to the illuminated 1514 manuscript of The Book of Hours, daguerrotypes of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington, and works by Thomas Jefferson.

His comments caused a media firestorm, with many commentators branding his comments as insensitive.

The singer’s young followers picked up on the controversy – however failed to fully understand what caused it.

‘Who is Anne Frank?’ began to trend on Twitter as the singer’s fans wondered who had caused their idol so much trouble.

A day before the deadline for his surrender ended, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt on Wednesday got partial relief from the Supreme Court which granted him four weeks time on "humanitarian" grounds to surrender before jail authorities to undergo 42 months remaining sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

Dutt, 53, had sought six months time to surrender to complete his seven movies in which producers have invested over Rs. 278 crore.

The apex court accepted the plea of humanitarian grounds raised by him for extending the time for surrender which was to expire tomorrow but made it clear that no further extension will be granted to him.

"Considering the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case and reasons stated in the petition, we are not inclined to extend the time by six months. However, we extend the time by four weeks from tomorrow. It is made clear that no further extension will be granted," a bench comprising justices P Sathasivam and B S Chauhan said.

The bench also noted in its order that senior advocate Harish Salve, appearing for Dutt, has agreed to the same that no further extension will be sought.

Korean pop star Psy, he of "Gangnam Style" virility, has released a follow-up music video for his latest single "Gentleman."

But as his satirical ways go, the latest parody has Psy being anything but a gentleman. Instead, he's quite mischievous as he prevents a foil from going to the bathroom, rips off girls' bikini tops and kicks a soccer ball away from kids, strategically placing himself as the boorish butt of all jokes throughout. His pranks have also been criticized for being sexist, since most of his targets in the video are women.

There are several cameos from Korean celebs, much in the same vein as "Gangnam Style," and there's a very promotional-looking appearance for the addictive mobile game Candy Crush Saga.

The 35-year-old South Korean star, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, admitted that it was hard to live up to people's expectations after the runaway success of "Gangnam Style," which was a parody of the ways of excess in Seoul's affluent Gangnam neighborhood. The crazy pop music video surprised the world by becoming the most viewed YouTube video of all time in just six months.

"It was hard not to feel pressured," said Psy about his new song. "But it was the best song I could make."

"I am proud and thankful that the whole nation is giving attention to my new song," he added. "So I don't even care if it fails."

There's also another "arrogant" dance that goes along with it, though it isn't quite as catchy as his previous horseback-riding dance performed by more than one copycat on YouTube. Instead, this one includes resting your chin on your hand and swaying your hips back and forth.

The song, primarily in Korean with a few lines in English, dropped at midnight Thursday and Psy performed the song live at a solo concert Saturday night, the same day the video was posted on YouTube.

"51million views in 40hours!! My God~!!!" Psy tweeted early on Monday.

The new video garnered 50 million page views in its first day, smashing the previous record of 8 million held by Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend," according to Forbes. It should be noted that Psy's manager Scooter Braun is also manager to the Biebs, who happened to achieve his global pop stardom on YouTube too.

"Gentleman" had more than 70.6 million views as of Monday evening. Is it likely that the video will achieve the same widespread success as its predecessor? We'll have to wait and see.

Over the weekend, he also got props from rapper T-Pain.

"And once again. Why can't we just have fun with music anymore like this man. psy_oppa does it again," the "Buy You a Drank" rapper wrote.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has hired Craig Zadan and Neil Meron for an encore performance as Oscar producers, retaining them for the 2014 broadcast after this year's show garnered solid ratings.

The move is unusual because the job of hiring the show’s producers traditionally belongs to the incoming president, who won’t be chosen until the end of July. But current President Hawk Koch, whose one-year term will end this summer, made the decision with the support of the 43-member Board of Governors.

"We believe that continuity is the most important thing. One of the problems we have every year is that you always have a new producer and a new host — there's so much learning," Koch said Tuesday by phone from China, where he is attending the Beijing Film Festival. "It's so much better when you have continuity."

Zadan and Meron’s show drew the biggest Oscar audience in several years but sparked some controversy, with a number of pundits and academy insiders criticizing host Seth MacFarlane’s repartee as juvenile, including the now-infamous “We Saw Your Boobs” opening number. The 2013 telecast, which featured a James Bond tribute and a movie musical medley, saw an average of 40.3 million viewers tune in — the best ratings for the show since 2010 and up 2% over the 2012 show, which Billy Crystal hosted.

Most important, the show lured in more younger viewers, with the 18- to 49-year-old audience up 11% over the year before.

Last year, outgoing academy President Tom Sherak attempted a similar effort to put his stamp on the telecast before leaving office, working diligently to hire producer Lorne Michaels and talk-show host Jimmy Fallon to host the 2013 show, only to falter on the deal-making as he concluded his term.

Sherak’s efforts at the time were criticized by some insiders at the academy who believed he was overreaching and not properly deferring to his successor.

While veteran Oscar producer Gil Cates ran the show 14 times from 1990 to 2008, most recently the job has become a one-season office with movie directors and producers such as Adam Shankman, Brian Grazer and Bill Condon overseeing the show in between their feature films. Laura Ziskin produced the show twice, in 2002 and 2007, and was the first woman to hold the job solo.

Nailing down a producer can be a difficult task. Consider the 2011 debacle when producer Brett Ratner and host Eddie Murphy backed out of their jobs in November after Ratner uttered an anti-gay slur. Grazer filled in quickly and hired veteran host Crystal to right the ship.

Zadan and Meron had wanted the producer job for years, speaking frequently during this past Oscar season about how running the telecast was fulfilling a lifelong dream. The two are currently in production on a Bonnie & Clyde miniseries for Lifetime and on the NBC television series “Smash.”

The 2014 telecast will be March 2.

However, Hindu groups are not doting on her Bollywood-inspired performances or her costumes. Instead they're demanding an apology from the former Disney star.

"The bindi on the forehead is an ancient tradition in Hinduism and has religious significance," Hindu statesman Rajan Zed told WENN (via MSN). "It is also sometimes referred to as the third eye and the flame, and it is an auspicious religious and spiritual symbol ... It is not meant to be thrown around loosely for seductive effects or as a fashion accessory aiming at mercantile greed."

Bush Hager earlier this month told People magazine that her father, who's become something of an "artiste" in his post-White House life, already has three paintings ready to go for "Mila": A portrait of the Hagers' cat Bernadette, to place above the crib, a landscape featuring a "baby tree" from his Texas ranch and a still life of the ranch's stone cross where the Hagers were married in 2008.

(CNN) -- If Anne Frank had not died a teenager in a Nazi concentration camp in 1945, Justin Bieber hopes she would have been his devoted fan.
That's what Bieber, 19, wrote in the guestbook at the Anne Frank House when he visited there Friday, according to the Amsterdam site.
"Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber," Bieber wrote. The tourist site posted the message on its Facebook page.
Adolescent and teen girls obsessed with the Canadian singer are known as "beliebers."
Bieber, who is in the middle of a European tour, stopped by the Anne Frank House between his concert in Antwerp, Belgium, and a Saturday performance in Arnhem, Netherlands. He told fans on Twitter it was a "chill day."
Bieber visited the house "together with his friends and guards" Friday night, according to the site's official Facebook page. The Anne Frank House confirmed to CNN that its Facebook post carrying Bieber's message was authentic.
