Christina Aguilera is returning to 'The Voice' USA.
The pop diva will reclaim her judge's chair on the next season of the singing contest, ousting current mentor Shakira.
A mole told The Wrap that former panellist Christina - who left the show in 2012 after three seasons to promote her latest album 'LOTUS' - is expected to return this autumn after signing a deal worth a rumoured $17 million.
It is as yet unclear whether Cee Lo Green, who also departed last year, will be returning alongside Christina or whether his popular replacement, Usher, will stay on.
The current line-up of NBC's singing competition, which also features Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, has proved a hit with audiences and ratings are at an all-time high.
Producer Matt Burnett confirmed Shakira's departure and explained change was a natural progress when working with successful recording artists.
He told Deadline: ''Everybody can't coach for life because when you have people with current recording in the game, this is not their job.
''Their job is their fans and making music and being live, and so we knew from the beginning that this would happen, and we've had six coaches. They all have another life and their schedules.''

Justin Bieber concert takings stolen in Johannesburg

Justin Bieber Concert
Justin Bieber concert takings stolen in Johannesburg
Thieves have reportedly stolen more than one million rand (£70,000) in takings after a Justin Bieber concert at Johannesburg's Soccer City stadium.

The gang, armed with ropes, hammers and chisels, broke into a strongroom, according to local media and police.

Officials at the stadium, which hosted the 2010 World Cup final, only realised the cash was missing on Monday morning.

The haul included takings from the Justin Bieber concert and a gig the previous evening by rockers Bon Jovi.

"The money was taken from the building and they only realised today," said a police officer from Booysens police station in Soweto.

"We don't know how many people were involved as we are still gathering evidence."

It's thought the thieves may have taken several days to chisel their way through a thick wall at the FNB stadium outside Johannesburg.

They then lowered themselves by rope into a room used to store cash and escaped undetected.

South African police spokeswoman Katlego Mogale said: "The suspect had gained entry through the roof.

"They broke the tile of the bathroom between last night (Sunday) after the concert and this morning."

Justin Bieber's Believe tour, which began in the US last September and ends in Atlanta in August, has been controversial at times.

It has seen his pet monkey quarantined in Germany, drugs found on his tour bus in Sweden and the 19-year-old was criticised for a note he wrote at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.

He also collapsed on stage in London and had to apologise to fans after arriving late on stage days earlier.

Angelina Jolie undergoes double mastectomy to reduce risk of breast cancer

Angelina Jolie Breast Cancer
Angelina Jolie undergoes double mastectomy to reduce risk of breast cancer
LONDON -- Angelina Jolie has revealed she had a double mastectomy to reduce her chances of getting breast cancer, and says she hopes her story will inspire other women fighting the life-threatening disease.

Jolie wrote in the New York Times today the operation has made it easier for her to reassure her six children that she would not die young from cancer, like her own mother did at 56.

"We often speak of 'Mommy's mommy', and I find myself trying to explain the illness that took her away from us. They have asked if the same could happen to me," wrote Jolie, 37.

"I have always told them not to worry, but the truth is I carry a 'faulty' gene."

The Oscar-winning actress said her doctors had estimated she had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer.

"Once I knew this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much as I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy," she said.

Partner and fellow Hollywood star Brad Pitt was by Jolie's side through three months of treatment that ended late in April, she said. The two got engaged last year.

Jolie said that even though she had kept silent about her treatment while it was going on, she hoped her story would now help other women.

"I choose not to keep my story private because there are many women who do not know that they might be living under the shadow of cancer. It is my hope that they, too, will be able to get gene tested."

Breast cancer alone kills some 458,000 people each year, according to the World Health Organization. It is estimated that one in 300 to one in 500 women carry a BRCA 1 or BRCA 2 gene mutation, as Jolie does.

Her decision was hailed by breast cancer patients and charities.

Richard Francis, Head of Research at the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity in Britain, said it demonstrated the importance of educating women with the gene fault.

"For women like Angelina it's important that they are made fully aware of all the options that are available, including risk-reducing surgery and extra breast screening," Francis told Reuters.

Breast Cancer Campaign Chief Executive Baroness Delyth Morgan said Jolie's openness in talking about her experience and her decision to have surgery would raise awareness of the disease and its risk.

Jolie won a 1999 best supporting actress Oscar for "Girl, Interrupted".

She lends her star power to a range of humanitarian campaigns, including serving more than 10 years as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees.

In April, she urged governments to step up efforts to bring wartime sex offenders to justice.

Lindsay Lohan - Dina Lohan: 'Lindsay Is Happy And Healthy In Rehab'
Embattled actress Lindsay Lohan is "happy" and "healthy" as she serves out a court-ordered stint

in rehab, according to her mother Dina Lohan.

The Mean Girls star checked into the Betty Ford clinic in California on 3 May (13) as part of a

plea deal to avoid jail after she confessed to lying to police officers about a traffic accident

last year (12), violating her probation on a jewellery theft charge.
Lohan reached out to her mum on Sunday (12May13) to mark America's Mother's Day, and Dina reveals

the actress is doing well as she continues with her 90-day treatment.
She tells the New York Daily News, "I just spoke to Lindsay at Betty Ford. She's doing great.

She's clear, she's happy, she's healthy."

Katy Perry Gyrates Against Mick Jagger On Stage

Katy Perry Gyrates Against Mick Jagger On Stage
This could so easily have been a ‘Mick Jagger has a heart attack on stage’ story, but it’s not,

thank the gods of aging rockers. No, this is a story about Katy Perry performing live with Mick

Jagger as the Rolling Stones play L.A. Although, ironically, this might meant he death of Jagger

for a lot of Stones fans.

The ex-wife of Russell Brand joined the Rolling Stones on stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in

Las Vegas to duet with Mick Jagger on a rendition of their 1978 hit 'Beast of Burden.' This isn’t

the first ‘star’ to perform with the Stones on this tour; fellow singers like Gwen Stefani and

Tom Waits have also been privileged by the presence of those rock legends on stage. The MGM Grand

will be blessed with a plethora of stars yet again next Sunday (May 19) for the 2013 Billboard

Music Awards. People like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Jennifer Lopez,

Lil Wayne, Christina Aguilera will perform.
Matthew Healy, the lead singer with The 1975, who scored a top 20 hit earlier this year with

Chocolate, is to support The Stones for their sell-out gig at Hyde Park Matthew, 23, said: “We’ve

been playing as a band probably for 10 years, since we were 13. We just started playing music

every day. That’s all we wanted to do.” Looks like those aging rockers are helping the young

talent bleed through!

Dancer who worked with Michael Jackson says she gave warnings about singer's health

Dancer who worked with Michael Jackson says she gave warnings about singer's health
Dancer who worked with Michael Jackson says she gave warnings about singer's health
LOS ANGELES –  A dancer who worked with Michael Jackson throughout his career testified on Wednesday that she told the director of Jackson's ill-fated concert tour that she was worried about the singer's health.
Witness Alif Sankey told a jury deciding a lawsuit that the pop star appeared thin and unprepared in 2009 for the rigors of his planned comeback concerts known as "This Is It."
The singer showed up at one rehearsal with shoes that had holes in the soles, missed rehearsals and appeared much thinner than earlier in his career, Sankey testified.
Sankey showed jurors an email she wrote to tour director Kenny Ortega in early June 2009, urging him to try to improve Jackson's health and spirits. She never got a direct reply but testified that Ortega raised the concerns with concert promoter AEG Live.
"Please help me help you to get him back into that Magical Light, please let me help you help him find what was lost, his GRAIL," Sankey wrote to Ortega, who she had worked closely with for a number of years.
Testimony showed Ortega copied Sankey on several email messages that he sent to AEG executives about Jackson's condition and the need for him to receive physical therapy and better nutrition.
"He requires more attention and management," Ortega wrote in one email. "I truly believe he needs nourishment guidance and physical therapy (massage) for his fatigued muscles and injuries. He is not in great physical shape. I believe he's hurting."
Sankey met Jackson while working on his 1987 video for "Smooth Criminal" and was an associate producer and planned to dance onstage during "This Is It."
She was testifying at the trial of a negligent hiring lawsuit filed by Jackson's mother against AEG Live LLC. Katherine Jackson claims AEG failed to properly investigate the doctor who was caring for her son and later administered a fatal dose of the anesthetic propofol to the singer in June 2009.
The promoter has denied wrongdoing and its attorneys have said the singer hid his addiction to propofol. Jackson's former physician, Conrad Murray, was convicted in 2011 of involuntary manslaughter.
Plaintiff's attorney Brian Panish asked Sankey about one message in which AEG executive Paul Gongaware told Ortega that he planned to talk to Murray.
"We want to remind him that it is AEG, not MJ who is paying his salary," the message said. "We want him to understand what is expected of him."
Sankey said she based some of her impressions of Jackson over the years on how he felt when they hugged.
"When I hugged him, he just felt like marble," Sankey said about Jackson early in his career. "But when I hugged, when I saw him briefly in 2006, he didn't feel like that anymore. He felt thin."
On cross-examination, Sankey acknowledged that her impressions were formed from brief interactions with the singer and she never had a long conversation with him.
She was, however, trusted enough to be around Jackson's children, whose privacy he fiercely protected.
Sankey testified that Paris Jackson once shared a secret, saying she didn't want her father to find out about candy stuffed inside her purse.
There were also several tiny pictures inside her purse -- all of her father.

Charlie Brown's Voice Actor Sent to Rehab for Stalking and Threatening

Charlie Brown's Voice Actor Sent to Rehab for Stalking and Threatening
Charlie Brown's Voice Actor Sent to Rehab for Stalking and Threatening
Peter Robbins, the man who voiced Charlie Brown in the 1960s TV animation 'Peanuts', is ordered to stay for eight months in a drug treatment facility to complete his 1-year jail sentence.

Charlie Brown's voice actor Peter Robbins was sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty for stalking former girlfriend Shawna Kern and threatening her plastic surgeon, Dr. Lori Saltz. Superior Court Judge Dwayne Moring said on Wednesday, May 8, that Robbins, who has already been in jail since January, could spend the rest eight months in a drug treatment facility.

Borrowing a line from Charlie Brown's friend Lucy van Pelt, judge Moring told Robbins, "Don't be a blockhead." Robbins was also given a five-year probation and ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution to the plastic surgeon. In his apology, he said that being in a rehab "is the first step towards becoming the fun-loving, respectful person" he used to be. He added, "I love Shawna and wish her my best."

Robbins was arrested in January after Kern reported to police that the 56-year-old former child voice actor called her more than 30 times in 24 hours and threatened to kill her. He also allegedly called Dr. Saltz' office so frequently to demand a refund for Kern's boob job.

Robbins is known for voicing Charlie Brown in the 1960s animated TV series, "Peanuts". He voiced the character for films and TV specials like "A Boy Named Charlie Brown", "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."

Choreographer who was key witness for Jackson in molestation trial now says he was abused

Michael A. Mariant, File/Associated Press -  FILE - In this May 5, 2005 file photo, defense witness Wade Robson, center, along with an unidentified woman, is escorted into the Santa Barbara County Courthouse by a member of Michael Jackson’s security force, in Santa Maria, Calif. to provide testimony in Jackson’s trial on charges of child molestation. Jackson Abuse Allegation
Choreographer who was key witness for Jackson in molestation trial now says he was abused

LOS ANGELES — A choreographer and television personality who was a key witness in Michael Jackson’s successful defense against child molestation charges is seeking permission to file a claim against the singer’s estate alleging the pop superstar sexually abused him as a child, court records and an attorney said.

Wade Robson was abused by Jackson during a seven-year period, the choreographer’s attorney, Henry Gradstein, wrote in a statement Wednesday. The attorney said Robson, 30, suffered a breakdown last year but has not stated how much his client is seeking to recoup from Jackson’s estate if a judge permits him to pursue his abuse allegations.

Details on Robson’s accusations were filed under seal.

The molestation allegations have been fiercely denied by an attorney for Jackson’s estate and the singer’s criminal defense attorney, Thomas Mesereau Jr.

“Mr. Robson was one of my strongest witnesses in Michael Jackson’s criminal trial,” Mesereau said. “I called him to the stand at the beginning of the defense case and he was adamant that he had never been improperly touched or molested. This makes no sense.”

Robson was the first defense witness during the 2005 trial that ended with Jackson’s acquittal on molestation charges. He also spoke favorably about Jackson after the singer’s death in June 2009.

“Last year, on a career trajectory that was off the charts, (Robson) collapsed under the stress and sexual trauma of what had happened to him for seven years as a child,” Gradstein wrote in a statement that referred to Jackson as a sexual predator.

“There are significant legal issues involved in this case that have the potential to impact lives beyond just our client,” he wrote.

Gradstein said he could not discuss specifics of the case, but he cited Robson’s recent breakdown as the choreographer’s reason for reversing his previous statements about Jackson. “As a result, he started intensive treatment which ultimately led to his ability to come forward,” Gradstein said.

Robson, an Australian-born choreographer, has appeared on the Fox series “So You Think You Can Dance” and worked with Britney Spears and other stars.

“Mr. Robson’s claim is outrageous and pathetic,” Jackson estate attorney Howard Weitzman wrote in a statement. “This is a young man who has testified at least twice under oath over the past 20 years and said in numerous interviews that Michael Jackson never did anything inappropriate to him or with him. Now, nearly four years after Michael has passed this sad and less than credible claim has been made. We are confident that the court will see this for what it is.”

Gradstein filed a motion seeking permission to file a late creditor’s claim against Jackson’s estate on May 1, nearly four years after the singer’s death, court records show. Most of the documents are sealed pending a June court hearing, but a summary of the documents states the choreographer includes a declaration from a psychiatrist and an “Unfiled Complaint for Childhood Sexual Abuse.”

The period for filing claims against Jackson’s estate has long since passed, but a California civil statute allows victims of abuse to file a lawsuit within three years of discovering “that psychological injury or illness ... was caused by the sexual abuse.”

Jurassic Park 4 is put on hold by Universal so 'best film possible' can be made

Dinosaur fans were delighted when it was announced that another installment of Jurassic Park was on the way.
But they will have to wait a little longer after it emerged Universal had put the brakes on production of Jurassic Park 4.
Executives made the move after it became apparent the film was not in a fit state to meet its planned production date of June 24, which means it has no chance of meeting its mooted June 13, 2014 release.

Jurassic Park Part 4
Running late: Jurassic Park 4 has been delayed due to production issues
Naughty Director Colin
Naughty boy: It seems director Colin
Trevorrow did not submit his script on time
A statement from the studio said: 'In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date, giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal's beloved franchise.
'We could not be more excited about the vision that [director] Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise's storied history.'

It is a move that will not have been taken lightly, as the studio is lacking tent pole movies for next summer, and had had been pushing for its franchises to pick up the slack.
It set a Fast & Furious 7 for a July 11, 2014 date but franchise director Justin Lin bowed out due to the time constraints. James Wan will now try to take the wheel.
The director, producer Frank Marshall and  their crew had been working hard to ensure the film's production started on time.

Hawaii resident Colin had been there with his Safety Not Guaranteed writer Derek Connolly on a new script, but it seems they did not get it finished on schedule.
Sources claimed the the studio only received a draft two days ago, and that it was 'more epic' than they expected.
This triggered Universal's lengthy development process, which includes budgeting, and it was clear it would not be started or completed on time.
Bosses prudently decided to postpone the blockbuster rather than push it before it is ready.
The news comes less than a week after Colin hinted in a tweeted picture confirmed the film would be returning to Isla Nubar, the island in the original film.
Stephen Spielberg's 1993 original was a massive hit, grossing more than  $900m, and this led to two lucrative sequels being made.
The ET filmmaker was behind 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park while Joe Johnston helmed 2001's Jurassic Park III.

Rihanna Brings '777,' '90s Flashbacks And Dancehall To Brooklyn

Rihanna Brings '777,' '90s Flashbacks And Dancehall To Brooklyn
Rihanna Brings '777,' '90s Flashbacks And Dancehall To Brooklyn
Bajan singer teased her network special, premiering tonight on Fox (May 6), during the electrifying Barclays Center stop of her Unapologetic Tour.

When you've recorded seven albums in seven years before your 25th birthday, and racked up a record 10 #1 songs in that span, the question of a set list can be a real problem when it comes time to tour. But Rihanna managed to electrify during the Brooklyn stop of her Unapologetic run on Sunday night, dipping generously into the 2012 release with graceful pivots to her older hits.

And never mind that she took the stage nearly an hour late, right? In a comic twist, concert organizers screened part of her "777" special, which documents her promotional, seven-city, seven-day concert gig and debuts tonight (May 6) on Fox at 8 p.m. Barclays Center fans got a preview of the doc, including angry sound bites from journalists (MTV News and MTV Style were there!) who flew around the globe with the star wailing about Rihanna's consistent ... lateness, among other mishaps. Needless to say, we were prepared, but also very much rewarded for our patience. Read on for a few highlights.

The Rihanna Navy Reports For Duty.
From Little Monsters to Swifties to the shade-and-you-might-get-stung BeyHive, a true pop diva is nothing without her loyal fan army. But while others may lay claim to a larger or more mobilized base, it's hard to box with Rih's camp when it comes to style. Yes, the Rihanna Navy apparently takes "Phresh out the Runway" literally, as scores of girls (and boys!) turned up on Atlantic Avenue in their beauty-blog best, from their black beanie-topped heads to their cage-strapped feet.

"Fi, Fo, Fum Like The Sky Is Falling Down On Me"
She didn't play her 2005 breakout single "Pon de Replay," but the Barbados beauty turned the Barclays to bashment, dousing her dancehall-inspired tracks, from "Man Down" to "No Love Allowed," with vintage reggae samples. And the Brooklyn crowd, where proud West Indians are always well-represented, went wild. By now, Rihanna, who had slipped into a black tee and thigh-grazing white boots, was fully in her element, gyrating and strutting across the stage. "Where my rude boys? Where my rude girls at?" she asked as video projections showed the 25-year-old posing for (the most glamorous) mug shot. Her crime? Being a badgal, of course.

No, I'm Not Trippin', You Remind Me Of A Rhythm Nation.
By now anyone who can double-click knows that the '90s are having a momentLike, a "we brought "House of Style" back, and let's binge-watch "Dawson's Creek" on NetFlix" moment. And so it was on the Unapologetic Tour. Rihanna outfitted her super-agile dancers in full Janet Jackson "Rhythm Nation"-era regalia for the opening numbers, including her wistful "Love Without Tragedy/ Mother Mary" and "Phresh." The youngest Jackson made a signature of dangling-key earrings, boxy black hats and suits adorned in gold hardware for her fourth studio album back in 1989, and the look was recreated with perfect twists onstage in BK.

But the nineties homage didn't end there: RiRi's backups returned after a break decked out in all-black Hood By Air baseball jerseys and caps, echoing Mary J. Blige's beautifully hood-rich "You Remind Me" video, c.1992.

We Don't Always Love The Way You Lie, Rihanna.
Among the points of contention for Rihanna's critics is that she's too prolific and not technically proficient enough a vocalist. But the output has been, inarguably, well-received by fans and as for the voice, it shows itself to best effect when the gutsy singer channels her emotions. She did that on Sunday for selections like "Stay" and the classic "Hate That I Love You," belting as beads of perspiration streamed down her forehead. What was missing, though, was the storytelling, the heartache. "Any lovers in the house? Anybody who hates love? Anybody who doesn't understand that sh--?" she shouted before launching into a plaintive rendition of "What Now." Yes, we know she has a penchant for oversharing, but onstage, she kept far too much to herself.

Where Brooklyn At?
It came as no surprise that performing at the House that Hov built would have special meaning for the Bajan radio-killer. After all, Brooklyn-bred Jay-Z signed the young singer back in 2004 and continues to manage her career under his Roc Nation label. But it turns out Rihanna had other personal connections to the county of Kings. "As a kid, I spent every summer in Brooklyn," she told the crowd before giddily marveling at how far she'd come from those days. "I'm all the way from Barbados and now we're here," she added, brushing back a cascade of Veronica Lake-inspired waves. Throughout the night, she would catch herself and stop again and again to shout out the borough: "I've performed in many other places in the area but Brooklyn? That's f---ed up, that's special!"

First week of Jackson trial previews massive case

First week of Jackson trial previews massive case
First week of Jackson trial previews massive case
A look at key moments this past week in the wrongful death trial in Los Angeles between Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, and concert giant AEG Live, and what is expected at court in the week ahead:
THE CASE
Jackson's mother wants a jury to determine that the promoter of Jackson's planned comeback concerts didn't properly investigate Dr. Conrad Murray, who a criminal jury convicted of involuntary manslaughter for Jackson's June 2009 death. AEG's attorney says the case is about personal choice, namely Jackson's decision to have Murray serve as his doctor and give him doses of a powerful anesthetic as a sleep aid. Millions, possibly billions, of dollars are at stake.
WHAT HAPPENED
Jurors heard opening statements in which both sides told them Michael Jackson struggled with prescription drug addiction. Katherine Jackson's lawyers said AEG is the only entity that claims it didn't know there was a problem, but the company's lawyer countered that Jackson was so secretive about receiving the anesthetic propofol, only he and a few doctors knew about it.
Testimony began with familiar faces from Murray's criminal trial, including the first paramedic to reach Jackson's bedroom on the day he died and a police detective who investigated Murray. Detective Orlando Martinez told jurors he believed the former doctor's debts of roughly $1 million prompted him to bend or break rules in his care of Jackson.

Upon entering the courtroom, Katherine Jackson stood in the front row along with her son Randy and daughter Rebbie. They were among the first people that jurors likely saw in the packed courtroom.
A video montage of private family photos of Jackson and his children, including one in which the singer presented younger son Blanket to President Bill Clinton. Jackson's daughter Paris was seen clutching her father's leg in the picture as the singer's ode to his children, "You Are My Life," played.
QUOTABLE MOMENTS
"We're not looking for any sympathy. We're looking for truth and justice." (Attorney Brian Panish, who represents Katherine Jackson and told jurors that the trial is the "whole story" of how Jackson died.)
"The truth is, Michael Jackson fooled everyone. He made sure that no one, nobody, knew his deepest darkest secrets." (Attorney Marvin S. Putnam, who represents AEG Live and told the jury that while Jackson's death was a tragedy, the company isn't responsible for it.)
OUTSIDE COURT
On the trial's first day, some of Jackson's fans who couldn't get a seat in the courtroom craned their necks to peek through tiny windows to get a glimpse of the proceedings.
Court officials later established an overflow room with closed-circuit video of the proceedings for reporters and members of the public who can't fit in the 45-seat courtroom.
WHAT'S NEXT
In the upcoming week, coroners' staff will testify about what killed Jackson and will likely be asked about the singer's overall health when he died.
Conrad Murray and Michael Jackson's children could be called as witnesses in the months-long trial.

Kris Kross Rapper Chris Kelly's Autopsy Completed, Finding No Signs Of Trauma Or Foul Play

The autopsy report on Kris Kross rapper Chris Kelly has returned to Atlanta coroners, implying the original claims that he died of an overdose are true.

Rapper Chris Kelly, of the popular 90's duo Kris Kross, has been found dead in his Atlanta home earlier this week (May 1) after a suspected overdose on heroin and cocaine. MTV now report that his autopsy has been completed, with coroners finding no evidence to go against the initial claim that he died of an overdose.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner completed his autopsy yesterday (May 2), however the official cause of Kelly's death won't be determined until for another three weeks at least, as coroners are still awaiting the toxicology report to return. Reports that the Kelly died after he had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine, claims that were backed-up by his mother, are now looking justifiable, although police must wait until all available information has been collected before they can make a final report.

Nicki Minaj Slams Mariah Carey With 'Secure Woman' Tweet

Nicki Minaj Slams Mariah Carey With 'Secure Woman' Tweet
'All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin?' Minaj tweets about fellow 'American Idol' judge.

Just when you thought Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj were done bickering on "American Idol," the two diva judges have thrown so much shade? at each other over the past 24 hours producers might have to set up extra stage lights just so we can see all the eye-rolling on Thursday night's (May 2) elimination show.

The agree-to-disagree/hate relationship took another serious turn on Wednesday night when Carey not-so-subtly tweaked Minaj by noting that the Young Money queen had never reached the #1 position on Billboard's Hot 100 single chart. (Not for nothing, but Billboard reported last April that both women had 44 Hot 100 hits, though Carey still holds the record for most weeks at #1 (16) for her 1995-96 Boyz II Men hit "One Sweet Day.")

Well, you knew Nicki wasn't going to take that sitting down. On Thursday morning she started the day with a tweet that set things off again. "All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin?," Minaj wrote double-tweaking Carey by using one of her favored bit of twin-related slang and bringing up the sore subject of rumors that "Idol" producers had reportedly considered dumping Mariah? in favor of former judge Jennifer Lopez earlier this season when ratings began to go (further) south.

Dwayne Johnson to Star in HBO Dramedy Pilot

Dwayne Johnson to Star in HBO Dramedy Pilot
Dwayne Johnson to Star in HBO Dramedy Pilot
"Entourage's" Stephen Levinson and Mark Wahlberg are among the EPs on the untitled Miami athletes project, with Peter Berg attached to direct.Just days after winning the top spot at the box office with their action feature Pain & Gain, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Mark Wahlberg are back at it.
OUR EDITOR RECOMMENDS

The duo are teaming up for a half-hour dramedy pilot set up at HBO about the lives of retired athletes living in Miami, The Hollywood Reporter has learned, with Johnson attached to star.
The untitled Miami athletes project hails from Stephen Levinson (Entourage), who will pen the script and executive produce alongside Mark Wahlberg, Johnson, Dany Garcia and Peter Berg, the latter of whom will direct the pilot. A search is under way for a showrunner, with HBO looking to film the pilot in the fall.
 40 Years of HBO
The Miami athletes dramedy continues the premium cable network's relationship with Levinson and Wahlberg, whose credits also include HBO vehicles Boardwalk Empire, How to Make It in America and In Treatment.
Johnson is no stranger to the sports world, having played college football before kicking off his World Wrestling Federation career and becoming one of the sport's best and most renowned personalities. The pilot order comes more than a week after Johnson had hernia surgery to repair an injury suffered in April during a championship title match against John Cena. (Cena came out on top.)

The pilot marks Johnson's latest small-screen effort. In June, he'll host TNT's reality competition series The Hero, in which 10 people live in a house and participate in various missions that test their brains, brawn and even their morality. The HBO vehicle, should it go to series, would mark his first small-screen series regular role following features The Mummy Returns, The Scorpion King, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and countless others.
'Pain & Gain' Premiere Pumps Up Hollywood
For Berg, the Johnson starrer will bring the number of HBO pilots he's attached to direct to two, joining Damon Lindelof's adaptation of The Leftovers. He also has pulp thriller Bloodline in contention at NBC, which has been building steam heading into this month's upfront presentations.
The Miami sports dramedy pilot order comes a day after HBO picked up critical darling Veep for a third season and just weeks before the premiere of Christopher Guest series Family Tree. HBO also has the six-episode entry Getting On and Stephen Merchant's Hello Ladies in the works. On the development side, the cabler also has pilots People in New Jersey, Mike Judge's Silicon Valley, the Duplass brothers' Togetherness, the San Francisco-set Michael Lannan entry in the works.
Levinson is repped by WME and Leverage Entertainment; Wahlberg is with WME, Leverage and Sloane Offer; and Berg is with WME and Hirsch Wallerstein.

Deanna Durbin, Hollywood film star, dies at 91

Deanna Durbin, Hollywood film star, dies at 91
Deanna Durbin, one of Hollywood's biggest box-office stars in the 1930s and early '40s, has died aged 91.

Her son, Peter H David, made the announcement in a newsletter to her fans, saying she died "a few days ago".

In 1947 she was the highest-paid star in the United States. But she retired from the business the following year when she was just 27.

Durbin made her film debut in the 1936 MGM short Every Sunday, in which she appeared alongside Judy Garland.

Born Edna Mae Durbin in Winnipeg, Canada in 1921, Durbin was nurtured and promoted by producer Joe Pasternak.

Durbin starred in the Oscar-nominated Mad About Music which opened in 1938
Durbin starred in the Oscar-nominated Mad About Music which opened in 1938

Her first movie for the Universal studios, Three Smart Girls, was nominated for the best picture Oscar in 1937.

Durbin auditioned for the part of Snow White in 1936. But Walt Disney turned her down, saying her 15-year-old voice was too mature for the part.

In 1939, Durbin and fellow teen star Mickey Rooney were presented with Juvenile Academy Awards for their "significant contribution in bringing to the screen the spirit and personification of youth."

The success of her films, which reportedly saved Universal from bankruptcy in the late 1930s, was estimated to account for 17% of the studio's revenue during the decade.

In 1946 Durbin's salary of $323,477 made her the second highest-paid woman in America, just behind Bette Davis.

Winston Churchill watched her films before they were released to the general public in the UK, while Anne Frank hung a picture of Durbin on the wall of the attic in which she and her family hid from the Nazis.

In 1949, after 21 films and at the height of her worldwide fame, Durbin quit the movie business and retired to a village in France.

She shunned the spotlight with her third husband, the film director Charles David, who died in 1999.

Durbin rarely gave interviews but did send reporters a letter in 1958 in which she said she was "never happy making pictures".

"The character I was forced into had little or nothing in common with myself - or with other youth of my generation, for that matter."

Detective Says Michael Jackson's Personal Doctor Would 'Do Whatever He Needed to Get Paid'

Detective Says Michael Jackson's Personal Doctor Would 'Do Whatever He Needed to Get Paid'
Detective Says Michael Jackson's Personal
Doctor Would 'Do Whatever He Needed to Get Paid'
Los Angeles police detective Orlando Martinez testified in Michael Jackson's wrongful death trial on Wednesday, May 1. Martinez told the jury that Conrad Murray, the cardiologist who is convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death, was "in desperate financial straits" when serving as the pop star's personal doctor.

Martinez, who investigated Jackson's death, said Murray had unpaid student loans, credit card bills, home loans, and child support obligations which made a total of nearly $1 million. Martinez revealed that Murray had eight children whom he had to support, and without the big payday from being Jackson's doctor, the cardiologist would be having bigger financial trouble.

"Focusing on the financial aspect may have been important for Dr. Murray's willingness to disregard his Hippocratic Oath for financial gain," Martinez testified, and said that in order to get the $150,000 a month, Murray might "break the rules, bend the rules, to do whatever he needed to do to get paid."

In the trial, Martinez also revealed Murray phoned his girlfriend, Nicole Alvarez, when the doctor was in the ambulance that carried Jackson from the singer's house to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He later explained to jury that he interviewed Alvarez and found something suspicious when searching at her house.

"I found one piece of paper with Dr. Murray's name -that had fallen behind the door of a cabinet- in the entire apartment [Murray had] been staying at at least two months," Martinez said. "He was living there, and none of his stuff was there." Martinez assumed that Murray asked Alvarez to cover his tracks.

Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, filed the wrongful death suit against AEG Live. She accused AEG Live, the promoters behind Jackson's "This Is It" gigs, of ignoring her son's life-threatening health concerns and for not properly investigating Murray, who was responsible for administering the dose of anaesthetic propofol which killed the "Thriller" singer.
